10 Pictures from my iPhone Tuesday. Yep, it’s a thing. I was originally going to post “Top 5 Whole30 Meals from Week 1,” but it was a little wordy and about that Whole30… it’s just not going to work out.
Why? Because a) starting a Whole30 two weeks from my second biggest race of the year probably isn’t the smartest. b) I really wanted a glass of wine (three) on Saturday night. But seriously, I decided to wait because even though I prefer not to eat Gu and Huma, they really are the best things for me during a race. If that’s what my body needs, that’s what my body is going to get.
But Gretchen and I briefly discussed (via blog comments) starting a Whole30 January 1st and getting a group for accountability if anyone is interested.
So in lieu of this shift as well as the green-light from yesterday’s post to write about whatever I want on Tuesdays, here are my top 10+ iPhone pictures from last week:
Chocolate Chili from WellFed
You heard me, Chocolate Chili. Well Fed: Paleo Recipes for People Who Love to Eat is my first and only cookbook that I own and I’m obsessed with it. Some friends told me about how they prefer this Paleo chili over regular so I had to try it to believe it. Yes, it was amazing.
The first and maybe the last time I got my hair “colored”
See the transformation? Fail. At least I officially mastered the bewildered selfie.
But I really do need advice. I’m the girl who complains about and talks down a $40 haircut so I spent relatively a lot of money on this. I was nervous to get highlights for the first time, but told my girl to go for it. So I was a little disappointed when she revealed it and I looked pretty much the exact same. She said to come back if I wasn’t happy with it.
Should I leave it and just never get highlights again? (Maybe it wasn’t meant to be and that way I never have to spend that much money again).
Or should I get what I paid for and go back and get my real highlights?
Speaking of foil heads…
My friend Kitty knows how to do it right.
The glorious day from above that I got a double yolk
I can’t tell you how long I’ve waited for this.
The things I get tagged in on Instagram..
I actually need to do an entire post on the things I get tagged in. I’ll start collecting.
I am officially moved in with my sister and brother-in-law
And it’s kind of awesome.
On Saturday night the boys grilled the most amazing steaks while Melissa and I made asparagus and mashed white sweet potatoes.
Abby’s dog that also doubles as her nappy grandma
I think she sent me this so I’d at least laugh once a day for the rest of my life.
When I moved and had to clean out my shoe closet
The sad part is that this isn’t even all of it. Someone please call the hoarding hotline or ban me from Fleet Feet.
Pictures of Mark in high school
I’m so happy I didn’t know him then.
I love having people to cook for every night
I made this last night for my sister and brother-in-law (Josh got regular pasta, too). I reminisced last night on the fact that I used to cook with spaghetti sauce in a glass jar and add more sugar to it. If this is you, I do not judge but not I love making the real stuff. It tastes so much better and is much better for me!
Do you have a favorite cookbook or have you fully moved on to online recipes?
What do you use for race nutrition?
Would you rather cook for yourself with no stress or for other people?
