I want to inspire people to live as healthy as possible. In my field (working with people with disabilities) we are constantly making goals for our clients through the perspective of what they want for themselves. We give them each specific objectives based on each individual need, but what it always boils down to is “I want to be happy and healthy.” And as simple as this concept is and as often as I hear that phrase in my place of work, I constantly find myself thinking “all I want is to be happy and healthy too.” I think that we all want to be happy and healthy, but for some people that optimal health seems so out of reach that there is almost no point of even trying. For me, it was that I was healthy enough and I was happy enough. Sure, I could be happier and healthier, but that would take even more work and I already do so much. We feel as though optimal health is so far off or just not worth it. Running makes me happy and it makes me healthy, but for a while I was putting my body through the wringer without treating it properly by fueling it with the right nutrition.
