Running is my thing and biking is his thing. He will run and I will ride my bike, but if we do it together, we’re to guaranteed to argue at least 50% of the time. Climbing is different though. It’s our mutual hobby that Mark and I love to do together any chance we get.
To recap our little climbing trip, I’ll give you a sentence for every picture!
We went to Jamestown Crag in Arkansas, which is about 2.5 hours from Memphis.
We didn’t get there until about 10:30 p.m. and it was chilly so Mark was quick to build me a fire!
I made “Campfire Banana Boats” of chocolate chips, marshmallows, and coconut.
Mark wasn’t crazy about it, but I just love chocolate.
We used it to make broccoli and asparagus omelets (yes, I did the packing).
I got Mark a camping French Press last year and we finally put it to good use.
The coffee was seriously so good.
We had a slow morning, but at 10:00 a.m. we walked down about .25 miles to start climbing.
Truth be told, we spent a good portion of our day rolling our eyes and mocking other climbers… they say the a most ridiculous things.
Mark and I have this thing going where he leads all the routes (the hard/scary part) and then I top rope and clean them (the easy part).
Sport climbing requires a high level of team work, communication, and trust and I imagine that it’s a lot cheaper than couple’s therapy.
